Just a short walk behind the highly venerated and bustling Baishatun Gongtian Temple, a path through rustic windbreak forests suddenly opens up to a broad view—here lies the endless Taiwan Strait and Baishatun's most charming natural scenic area, the "Baishatun Seawall." It perfectly combines the stabilizing power of religion with the vastness of nature, making it an excellent place to calm the mind and soothe the soul.
Behind us is a row of wind turbines.
The most iconic landscape of the Baishatun Seawall is undoubtedly the row of giant white wind turbines standing along the coastline. Set against the azure sky and the deep blue sea, the massive turbine blades turn slowly. This not only demonstrates the promotion of green energy but also weaves a picturesque coastal scene, making it a must-visit spot for photography enthusiasts and social media check-ins.
The beach is right behind the Mazu Temple, perfect for a stroll and relaxation.
As part of Taiwan's west coast, the Baishatun Seawall boasts an exceptional vantage point for sunset viewing. Every evening, the setting sun dyes the ocean surface into a canvas of interwoven gold and orange. The sparkling seawater paired with the silhouettes of the wind turbines creates a romantic and breathtaking view. Many travelers purposely stay here to quietly watch the sun dip below the horizon.
The sand on the beach is so soft.
This seawall is not only suitable for strolling but also features the well-planned "Green Light Sea Breeze Bikeway." You can rent a YouBike at Baishatun Train Station and ride all the way here. Facing the slightly salty sea breeze, listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves, and riding leisurely along the coast is a perfect way to completely release the stress of daily life and schoolwork.
Looking for small animals by turning over the stones.
In stark contrast to the lively old street in front of Gongtian Temple, the seawall area retains a pure tranquility. Many "Xiang Deng Jiao" (pilgrims), after finishing their prayers to Mazu, will come to sit and rest on the benches by the seawall. Looking at the vast ocean, it feels as if all worries are washed away by the waves, allowing both body and mind to receive the gentlest healing here.
It's so much fun to stroll on the beach.
