Our team grew up in Yuanlin City, Changhua County. This is not only a bustling metropolis in southern Changhua but also a city closely connected to railways. In recent years, the completion of the Yuanlin railway elevation project has made trains the most familiar and convenient means of transportation in our daily lives. Whenever we watch trains shuttling between platforms, taking passengers to different destinations, we can't help but wonder: besides carrying passengers, how many beautiful landscapes and touching stories do these stretching tracks connect in Taiwan? Thus, an exploration plan centered on "railway travel" sprouted in our minds.
In the fast-paced rhythm of modern life, people often pursue speed and forget to slow down to appreciate the scenery along the way. During our preliminary discussions, we discovered that the railways in central Taiwan (and even extending to neighboring counties and cities) unexpectedly hide extremely rich cultural treasures and halls of knowledge! Here, we have the Baishatun Mazu and Dajia Mazu, which showcase Taiwan's traditional folk beliefs and bring peace to people's minds; there is also the Taliwu Cultural Park, which perfectly revitalized old railway warehouses and gave them a new lease on life. Furthermore, the railway can lead us to the National Museum of Natural Science to explore scientific mysteries, the National Library of Public Information to immerse ourselves in a vast sea of books, and even the Chimei Museum to appreciate the beauty of Western art. Spanning religion, history, architecture, and art, these attractions are simply a living encyclopedia.
Therefore, our biggest motivation for participating in this Cyberfair is the hope to break the mold that "learning can only happen in the classroom." We look forward to transforming into little railway explorers, personally stepping out of the campus, investigating with our own feet, and recording with our eyes. We not only want to deeply understand the stories behind these attractions but also hope to harness the boundless power of the internet to turn these field trip reflections into a vivid and rich webpage. We hope to map out a railway travel guide that combines "low-carbon eco-friendliness" and "in-depth culture" for domestic and international travelers, allowing the whole world to follow in our footsteps and see the unique charm of railway travel in Taiwan!
