Funing Temple primarily venerates Mazu, believed to be the “Second Mazu” from Meizhou, with a soft-bodied golden statue brought to Taiwan by early settlers to protect the local populace. The main hall’s left wing houses the Guardian Lord (伽藍主宰), while the right wing honors the Birth Goddess (註生娘娘). Additionally, the temple enshrines the Five Wenchang Emperors, deities associated with academic success, serving as patrons for scholars.
